Memberships
The Wilson Pottery Foundation is a public, non-profit, tax-exempt organization that relies on memberships as one of its revenue sources. There are three classes of individual memberships: Gold($100), Silver($50), and Bronze($25). Memberships by organizations($100), businesses($150), and corporations($500) are welcomed as well. There are no membership restrictions regarding race, color, gender, or creed. However, those seeking membership must be at least 18 years old. Membership meetings are held biannually.
The Wilson Pottery Foundation is proud to be a partner agency of the Guadalupe County United Way (GCUW). The GCUW is committed to focusing resources that serve the human service needs of the community, one of which is the Wilson Pottery Museum. Access the GCUW web site at www.guadalupeunitedway.org if you wish to make a donation.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to research, acquire, and preserve that part of Texas History made by the Wilson potters during the 19th Century. This includes, but is not limited to, the acquisition and restoration of the historic pottery sites, collecting Wilson pottery and artifacts, as well as the pottery of contemporary Texas potters, and displaying all for the enjoyment and enlightenment of all Texans, tourists, and school children.
Current Objectives
The Wilson Pottery Museum allows us to share the rich heritage of the Wilson Family. Thus, we continue to seek the funding necessary to enhance the museum contents and improve its ability to flourish.
We want to strengthen the bond among family members to create a greater awareness of our family legacy. Our goal is to encourage separate family groups to establish a centralized organization so that strategic planning such as fund raising can be better accomplished. The Foundation hopes to manage the backfill soil erosion problem at the Capote pottery site.
